Alexander Treadaway Hoare was born April 28th, 1907, in Axmouth,
Devon/Dorset, the first of two sons of EWTH and Florence Mabel Hoare
née Bound (for a discussion of this marriage, refer to the
summary of the life of EWTH).
When he was five years old, he was of delicate health, causing his
mother to take him to New Zealand for six months, to spare him the English
winter (
as reported in the Pullmans 1914 article
covering the lawsuit brought by Florence against EWTH).
After he became an adult, Alexander moved to Kenya, and there, in
1929, married Phyllis Marie Stanners, born 1907 in Kingston, Middlesex/Surrey.
The couple had two daughters: Jeanne Elizabeth Marie, on January
29th, 1931, and Angela, on August 26th, 1934. Both were born in Nairobi,
Kenya (see the
family
tree of Alexander's branch). Alexander and Phyllis were divorced
in 1936.

A photograph provided by one of Alexander's daughters shows two boys, identified
as John and Robert, sons of Alexander from a liaison subsequent to his marriage
with Phyllis. The information we have on Alexander's descendants has
been provided by Cheryl Hyland, Alexander's great-granddaughter, now living
in Adelaide, Australia. Of Alexander, Cheryl reports: "
My
mum said there is rumor that he had eight wives/partners during his lifetime".
Cherly's information is that Florence and Mr Bound came to Rhodesia in 1926,
and that subsequently Florence was remarried to a man named Chapman.
No information about Eric Lester Hoare, Alexander's brother
and the second son of EWTH and Florence, has been found, other than his
birth certificate.
