Hills and Thrills Parking Information

So, are you parking for the whole weekend? Or you just want to park for the day or evening?

If you are coming in for the weekend, the next question is do you want in/out privileges or are you willing to park and leave it? If you want the most convenience, then park at the Hilton. It costs more, but you have access to it and have in/out priveleges. On the other hand, if you do not need in/out privileges, you can save money... go for the Mon Wharf (the problem there is it is not monitored and there are homeless folks that sometimes hang out there late at night). If you don't need access, want to save money but want to have the car watched, park over in Station Square and walk back over to the Hilton (or take the "T" for about $2). Another option would be to park in the Westinghouse Building... it is indoors and reasonably priced, but won't give you in/out access.

If you need to park only for the skates, your best bets are public parking meters for evenings (if you can find a spot) or Sunday (parking meters are free evenings and Sundays). The Mon Wharf is also a good option, even if it is closed (since you can still get in - see Mon Wharf for additional information). Or, for $5 for 12 hours the Westinghouse Building is good.

For specifics see the map below. And for even more information, keep scrolling down.

Hilton Hotel

Hilton $17 Self Park, $24 Valet park.

If you are staying at the Hilton, want in/out privileges and don't mind spending the extra money, this is then a great choice.

Mon Wharf Parking

Mon Wharf $8 to enter during the week. But after 1:30pm on Friday, closed AND FREE (you can still get in). This will require a little careful maneuver. The entrance is closed (it will have a chain hanging across it). Simply enter via the exit, then proceed down the ramp. But be careful, the lanes are reversed (English style). So you enter using the left lane. There are no attendants there to watch the cars after they close, and some homeless tend to hang out there late at night.

The entrance is at the intersection of Wood and Fort Pitt Blvd.

This applies ONLY to the open air parking lot next to the Chevrolet Amphitheater. Shuttle buses available Monday through Friday from 3pm to 7pm from the parking lot to Boulevard of the Allies (nearest stop is at Post Gazette Building, a block from the Hilton Hotel)
