Further enquires should keep me busy next week

PPGSN is a high Provincial Rank comparing to the PPr JGW he got from Hertfordshire in the "craft". From Devon records it's not clear whether he got Provincial Chapter rank in Devon or elsewhere but probably not Devon. He didn't seem to get Provincial rank until 1912/13. No ideas re "beoz". "boaz" occurs in "craft" but is not associated with Chapter (these days anyway)and under that: "554 PZ 494". The 554 is clear, the rest approximate).

He is listed in Axminster Chapter records as being a PZ when he joined in 1902. This must have been in Yarborough 554 . From Devon records he was a PZ (PZ= Past Zerrubbabal = Past Master) in 494 (Axminster) in 1912/13. So a composite 554 PZ 494 makes sense but will have been added/amended after 1912/13. I will check these dates with secretary of Axminster 494 Chapter

V/F 1893 / (Boro' House. Colyford, Devon)

So EWTH was living in - owned or rented - the Colyford house already in 1893.

Doesn't seem to tie in with the stuff I got from the present owner of Musbury/Borough House - although he lists it as empty 1893- 1896. Owner until 1899 was John Bealy but I suppose EWTH could have rented it. Certainly his masonic activity in area didn't start until 1900/01 which ties in with a later arrival than 1893.

I wonder whether the !893 refers to his Exaltation (admission) into Yarborough rather than residence at Axmouth

Does this give us any further clues?

Also, Trig remembers being looked after during his orphan days by several families in Devon he believes to have been associated with his father. One had the name Blisset (a CPA in Bournemouth). Perhaps an alternative spelling of "Blizard", as in Edmund Blizard Hoare. b OND 1838?
